I'm going to hold off on The Killing lll until I can torrent the whole series. Meanwhile, I've finished S02 of Breaking Bad, and started on S01 of Homeland. And, in between, watched Cockneys vs Zombies which, whilst being utter cack, is also hugely enjoyable.

The Hour, so sumptuously shot, and I have a crush on both leading men

...and started on S01 of Homeland...

Oh dear. I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about with Homeland. It's badly plotted and scripted, incredibly predictable, some of the acting is awful (Claire Danes, step forward. Preferably without over-acting), the time compression is clumsy, and there's only really one sympathetic character in it, and that's so not Brody, any of his family, or any, bar Saul, at the CIA. Its snail-like pace picks up slightly when the big bad guy (finally) makes an appearance, but even then, you can still see plot developments coming a mile away. I'll finish this series, but I don't think I'll be bothering with S02

How Homeland beat Breaking Bad to an Emmy is beyond me, there's really no comparison.

Well that's one less thing to worry about missing!

Just Lost, House, Fringe, The Wire, Dexter, etc. to exorcise!

Quite like Homeland - although Dane's facial extortions are irritating. Rather like Damien Lewis and Mandy Patkin (?wrong sp?) is always very watchable. Slow burner, but I quite like the fact that - like The Killing etc. - they aren't trying to cram an entire story-line into 60 minutes.

No, yes, no, yes, yes. The Wire and Dexter especially, for totally different reasons.

Yeah, Many Patinkin is a great actor, and his is the best observed character.

Homeland. Yeah, I like it. But why does his missus insist on calling him 'Brody'? That's his surname. I'd be a bit pi$$ed off if my missus called me 'Smith' all the time.*

*especially as I'm not married and my surname's not Smith.

Actually, that feels completely normal, me and Mrs Me do that too, and did ever since I had a dream when we were in India where Shah Rukh Khan asked us to be in one of his films as a kind of modern day Bollywood version of Charters and Caldicott; we are Devvers and Fitz...

Breaking Bad on Netflix. Quite simply the best tv series I've seen since the Wire, and in many ways, it surpasses it.

Still persevering with Homeland. What's really irritating me is the mumbled dialogue... I have to keep playing bits back that I don't catch first time (I'm not going deaf - it doesn't happen on any other show). And I still don't know why Brody's missus addresses him by his surname!

As for Secret State, I finally watched it last week. Excellent. Just excellent.

I shall probably be finishing Homeland 1 today. Next up, light relief in the shape of Boston Legal S05. By the time I've finished that, I should have the whole series 3 of Walking Dead...
