I don't know how your squirrels are getting in, but my parents had a similar problem. They were jumping from a fence then strambling up a wall. Grandpa Bunny put a largish, well greased board on the wall at their landing point from the fence. When they jumped, they just slid off and couldn't scramble up to get in. Cheap and worked a treat - and hilarious to watch! No squirrel was hurt other than a little wounded pride. Eventually they gave up.

He has since taken to a humane trap and a subsequent bucket of water but just because he doesn't like them eating his bird food and fruit rather than them being a nuisance in the loft! He is a serial squirrel murderer!
