I have had some vague details of this Auntie will post when I have further details.

Chris Seamam I would like to add does not seem to age a day he looks exactly the same as I remember him when I was in my teens in the late 70's ( a bit like Michael J Fox who stil looks 15 )

Think I can help with the recreation ground plans. I live on Chevening Road and received a letter back in Jan from the council. They are planning to build a Surestart Children's Centre with a garden on the site of the disused changing rooms. They also want to create a shelter where the tennis and basketball courts are.
All sounds like a good idea to me- the old changing room block is covered in barbed wire and is an eyesore. Am also about to have my first baby, so any improvement to kids amenities are most welcome.

You can view the plans on the council's website here:
http://planning.croy...ystemkey=109978

If the link doesn't work, the planning number is 06/05267/P

Cheers.

All the developments round the area seem to be moving slowly the new vicarage has been built looks very nice if you ask me ! However no movement on the new development on the church site either & the new school development seems to be moving at a snails pace to.

So the old building on the corner of rockmount road - is that the old hall?

Thats the one to be turned into flats is it?

The vicarage does look really nice, went passed it at the weekend. There are a lot of nice buildings around the park, so glad some effort was put into that building.

Although I havent turned right, and ventured passed the school as yet since living here!

Update on the proposed Children's Centre which was going to be built on the site of the derelict changing rooms; it's no longer going ahead as there was a lot of local opposition. The Banardo's building behind Sainsbury's is now a new Children's Centre, which actually makes a lot more sense as the facilities were already there. It still leaves the Recreation ground with a scruffy old changing room though....
By the way, did anyone hear the commotion a couple of months ago when some students tried to organise a rave in St Margaret's Church? We were woken up at about 2am by lots of flashing lights, as the police had got wind of it and were turning away all the kids who had turned up!

Looks like work has finally started. Walked by this morning and a team of workers were clearing the site. I suppose they'll be knocking down the church next?

The church. They've cleared all the brambles from the grounds and put up a temporary fence. I'd be very interested to know if they're still building a nursery as I'm looking for a place for my son. Anyone got any ideas who to ask?

St Margarets Church to be demolished shortly have just been invited to see the finalised plans for the nursery & apartmentss on the site.

Hopefully this will happen very quickly its a bit like a building site with Rockmount School being updated at the same time.

Just read the planning permission for the redevelopment of the church and noticed that the number of proposed houses has increased to 8 town houses and the nursery. The last set of plans had less. Here's the planning permission no as the 29th is the last chance to comment. 08/03715/P. http://planning.croy...ystemkey=118827

Thankfully this development will start shortly I am fed up living in a tip but most of us affected in Orleans rd by this development have accepted the revised plans.

I dont think any further comments will effect the agenda unless the credit crunch kicks in !
