With Christmas out of the way I've been wondering what we can get up to with our 17 month old to have some decent 'family' time at the weekend. We love the Horniman, and Crystal Palace Park when the weather obliges, but what's everyone's favourite places to go? Any short drives to good nature walks? Soft play areas? I'm interested to hear what you all get up to at the weekend!

Coombe Woods in Shirley. Great little walk in the forest even though just a stones throw away from croydon town centre!

There are good short walks through Beckenham Place Park:

Kelsey Park in Beckenham is also a pleasant walk with a river running through it with ducks, geese and the odd heron. There's also a kiddies' playground - but it's not very soft! I sometimes walk through the park to get to the Beckenham shops and park for free on the road before the Chinese Garage roundabout.
