I was so pleased to learn that the Phooenix Suburb has been reprinted. To my mind this has always been the best book on the area and its history and I have just got my copy for a meagre 9.99

Oh, is it a really good read then?

It's not a social history in the classic sense (studied it at uni). It rambles in places and is mostly a collection of stories and memories of the area... That said, it's still an engaging read and I'd recommend it to any resident.

Got mine for by birthday last year... Wife got it off ebay I think.

Looks like my previous post sneaked past a few people. The reprint is a softback edition.

Just to let you know that the long awaited reprint of The Phoenix Suburb by Alan Warwick is now available from The Norwood Society, priced at 9.99 plus 2.30 p&p
