We have eaten in Chi twice, and both times been impressed. The restaurant is quiet and minimalist - the perfect place for a relaxing, intimate meal and a nice bottle of wine after a hard day. The food is not gourmet, but is fresh, tasty and appears healthy (not drowned in grease or msg). Standard menu dishes such as shredded crispy beef in chilli / chicken and black bean sauce accompany more unusual dishes such as scallops in birds nests, and lettuce wrapped mussels (both recommended). The prices are not ott, and the staff are lovely - courteous and attentive. Recommended.

yes i would definatley recommend this restaurant. My other half hates chinese (because of all the grease etc) but was persuaded to go here and now loves it. Lovely helpful staff and a calming atmosphere.

Tried their delivery service for the first time last night. Don't usually go for Chinese because it's so greasy - this wasn't. Can highly recommend it.

Tried it for the first time tonight and loved it! Superb food and as others have said, no grease.

Will go back very soon.

The only complaint I've ever had against this place came last Friday when they forgot the plum sauce with my delivery crispy duck. I made do with sweet chili from my cupboard but it wasn't quite the same.


Generally lovely though.

Ah....the old crispy duck conundrum.

Reminds me of my last take-out from Mr Kai when we ordered crispy duck for me, the GF and her visiting parents. We got a duck, plenty of sauce and ONE pancake each! I went back immediately and got given a batch of about 40! From the sublime to the ridiculous...

It's the fast food industry though. Exactly the same when asking McDonalds for ketchup. You either get one or 5 packets.

I've only been for the Dim Sum at lunch but I'd highly reccommend it. Really good value for money and beautifully cooked. Only shame is it's a bit too smart for relaxing weekend lunches and it's always empty when I go in which leaves you feeling a bit like you have to whisper!

I think this place is shaping up to be one of the best restaurants in the triangle.

The food is excellent, the service is good and while prices are not small, the overall experience gives you the sense that you are getting what you pay for.

Top marks to Chi Oriental.

The decor is tasteful, the service is good and the food is also very good. The King Prawn teriyaki was very good.
Prices are slightly above your standard Chinese restaurant but the food is also above standard.

A reliable restaurant which looks like it will endure in the triangle.

I'm surprised this gets such good feedback - it's always empty! If everyone loves it so much, why is it totally empty on nights when Tamnag Thai and Numidie are rammed?

Personally, I love the food, but it's just too unwelcoming in there. I really worry for its future - I went in for a takeaway the other night and all the staff were just standing around waiting for a customer. They looked delighted to see me. If it had been a bit fuller I might have suggested to my other half that we eat in, but I couldn't face us being the only people in there (as we were last time we ate there). It was the night of the fireworks as well and the Triangle was full of people.

It makes me sad that it's so empty. It can't be a price problem because there are other restaurants in a similar price bracket that do really well. I just don't think it's inviting enough in there - even if the food is excellent.

Just used it for homedelivery during the week-end and once again the food was very good indeed! I am not a fan of Chinese food but this restaurant manages always to deliver good food!

Do they need to use the fancy boxes though? Seems a bit wasteful...

We love fancy boxes + you can recycle them ....
