Following a great turn out at the Christmas VN get together, we will be holding our 35th Virtual Norwood Social Event at Los Torreros on Westow Street (opposite Sainsburys/Blockbusters), Upper Norwood on Friday 20th February from 7.30pm.

To help us to estimate numbers please vote in the poll.

This is a public event, not a private party, so there is no condition of entry and you can bring your friends with you too. We have had a lot of new members recently - this is a great way to meet fellow members or other locals if you are new to the area.

NB. Please note the revised venue.

Sounds good. You'll have to let me know how I spot a fellow VN-er though ;)

Will try and get my neighbour to come along too as shes often browsing VN.

Flat fingers, red eyes, anorak. (That'll be me; no idea what the others look like.)

How to spot other members:
1/ ask at the bar if anyone for the VN meeting is already here

...that's it

If you're the first to arrive then you just need to explain you've arrived for a meeting that's been organised on a web site, and that if anyone else mentions Virtual Norwood to send them your way.

And if you've never been to one of these social events before, don't worry, there's usually someone else that's new and the people that come along are always changing. Or you could wait 'til next time, but why wait?

Hurray! It'll be great to meet new folks and see VN pals.

We all look different than you'd expect. Does that help? We are older, younger, larger, smaller, weirder and normaller (?) than you'd expect. But mainly we are a diverse bunch who are interested in our neighbourhood and like meeting people (even if some of us are sometimes shy).

Very sadly can't make it - often away at weekends. I did enjoy meeting those who attended at Christmas, and look forward to a March get together.

Excellent! Since I've been in London I've not felt more like I live in a community until I came to CP. Love it!! Will try to bring my neighbours along too. D.

Bless you, caro. I have MAJOR work issues this month - busiest of the year - but we will try. We'd love to see everyone again. You get funny surprises at real life socials at the women you thought online were men and the men you thought were women. I am a man obviously.

I'm still waiting for the reassuring email that tells us the Gitmo' Bar will be a nice place to spend an evening on a Friday. At the mo' I'm having visions of vinyl benches, everyone dressed in loud nylon shirts, doing The Hustle, Saturday Night Fever Style...
maybe we should shift to someplace a little more, erm, domestic?

OK. Would people prefer to stick or twist to the Black Sheep?

As we need a place that is congenial to conversation, I vote for twist.

Better to switch now than to get there on the night and find it's impossible to hear yourself think. As people tend to turn up to VN dos throughout the course of the evening we won't be able to change venue on the night itself.
