Recently refurbished now with wooden floors, I have always thoroughly enjoyed my food in Golden Tiger. Very reasonably priced and can BYO alcohol. 2 weeks ago, the food was superb - 4 of us tried several dishes and were all impressed. Super all round.

Gave this a try last week.
No need for it really with the excellent Palace Spice and Gurkha Cottage in the triangle as food was average.

Uncle Wilf, look what happens as a result of your posting "no need for this restaurant", they have to put it up for sale.

Take care or you'll be on Radio 2 next as a key Upper Norwood opinion-former. <_<

I tried this restaurant recently. The food was a bit on the greasy side but I'd say that is the case with most of the local Indian restaurants. It was also far too salty, though. I notice things like that more these days, as I've reduced my sodium consumption with home cooking, but I could tell that the food tasted as if it was higher in salt content in comparison with the other local Indian restaurants I have been in recently. Shame because the underlying flavours were OK and they didn't need that amount to enhance them.

Has been consistently good on my last three visits and the service is excellent. The Nawabi Murgh and chicken Shaslik are delicious and no grease whatsoever in any dishes. Only slight criticism is salt seems slightly overdone in some dishes - I do find this in the Gurkha Cottage sometimes too. Deserves to be busier than it is and prices very reasonable.
