Went into the cafe for a late breakfast yesterday. Good food, very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!

Moderator's Note
Please put any further comments about the new cafe on this topic rather than here which is for the restaurant only. This will ensure that the poll continues to reflects people's view of the restaurant and doesn't get confused with being about both places.

Have to say that you are all spot on...what a lovely place!

The food was fantastic...nice and simple dishes that were fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection.

Overall...great food, wine, service and atmosphere...what more can you ask for?

This place is truly a gem.

Brilliant Red Snapper, good house red and good service.
Well recommended. Long may it remain and thrive in the Triangle.

Ludicrously friendly (please don't read that as overbearingly friendly, as it isn't) and good food. Service can be a little slow, but it's not a big problem, and it's only like that because they're nattering with another customer. A proper local restuarant.

We liked the waitress who calls everyone "Daaahling"

Amazingly, it didn't sound patronising, she was incredibly sweet! :D

We loooooooove this place, the fish stew served in the big copper pot for 2 is wonderful with a nice crisp bottle of white.

We're getting to know the owner and have a natter every time we go, he's worked in the triangle about 20 years, and he's recently opened a cafe next door, fantastic fry ups.

Last time we went we didn't have enough for a tip so I popped out to the teller machine and when I returned he told me off, and said you shouldn't go out by yourself this time of night! v. sweet.

This is our favourite restaurant in the Triangle. The food has been consistently excellent (apart from the fish cakes, which seemed disappointingly processed), the owners always friendly and engaging, and the prices terrific value. We have brought many friends and family here and they've been very impressed. It's a gem!

Apologies if this is my mistake -

Was trying to post for the Cafe and say how wonderful it was (and they to tapas take-away which is perfect for a lazy night in) and could not see a review section for it - am I missing something?

Hi Buzzbee. I also like A Torre cafe as they do a really good, value for money breakfast. I can never understand why it is always so quiet, although I do think the cafe lacks some of the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's quite dark and bland in there, which is a shame as the service and food are excellent.

Btw - there isn't a section of VN for cafe reviews.

Thanks Gekko,

Just wanted to reccomend it - I love it in there even though (I agree) atmosphere lacks slightly. Tapas and breakfasts amazing quality and good value, service prompt and friendly. Think it must be quiet as from the outside doesn't look that exciting but well worth a look in.
