This hostelry has received some paint on the inside too. All it needs to do now to do to remove the scruffy feel is sort out the seating.

Still has potential to be a decent local and worth a visit in the coming winter months.

Slightly bizarre experience tonight with The Alma Quartet playing classical music in there. Certainly unexpected!

It's not been the same since they removed the carpet. Sticking to the floor helped me stand up.

Also noticed windows now can be seen through.... "rustic" style seating still seems to be there though...
Interesting to hear that the sticky carpet has now gone.
Also another external paint job by the looks of things.....

Sticky carpet has gone and the floor has been sanded.

Also, the garden's been transformed with exotic plants!

Mate of mine said that there's another bar through the back... any truth to this?

One of the new air conditioning units brought the ceiling down saturday afternoon just by the mens toilet entrance luckily no one was underneath as they would have had a serious injury.

I understand it was back to business later on in the evening though.

Garden coming on a treat though !

Has much of the interior been changed? not been in for ages i.e. is the gaffer tape still on the seats?

Yes - it's in a state of extended transition.

It's become my drinking pad now though... at last a boozer that's not owned by a brewery. ;)

New ownership. Nice bunch of lads and their mum I think... Doing the work themselves so it's taking a while.

It is undergoing sutle changes, but ultimately has the feel of the old Alma. The ceiling that caved in outside the Gents has left one gapping hole. Could be construd as a bit of a danger sign - could happen anywhere in the pub after all - but regulars are keeping faith in the ol place, me included...

Would be nice to see the bar expanded with a few new pumps
