short lived should give you a clue !

The clue was in the siting of the restaurant - the food knocked the socks off other Indians by a country mile.

If it was that good location should not matter. And to call PS 'basic' is frankly unfair. Your opinion SL but I would say you're in a minority

As I said your opinion. Is it because the menus aren't scrolls drinks aren't served in goblets or it doesn't have tea lights on the tables that makes it basic ? Having done Bangladesh and Pakistan apart from c t masala etc the food is very authentic so if that's basic enough for the populations of those countries then basic is good enough for me

Ah, the usual resorting to sarcasm eh SLR? No - I mean basic as nothing particularly different from your average high street Indian, and I have tried many such places over the years. Nothing wrong with a good basic Indian like Palace Spice (and it obviously has its regulars who practically live in the place) but it isn't interesting enough to attract me given the, IMO, better Indian/Asian restaurants in the triangle. As usual, happy to agree to differ :)

No sarcasm at all. I know you like the garnish that establishments offer

Will be going to the Spice tonight for a birthday meal. Rare night out for me with the wife, as in-laws are kindly babysitting.

Interesting to see some of the opinions on here. I think the food is really very good and authentic. It certainly holds it's own against similar establishments in the area, IMO.

P.S. Someone tell Manik he owes me a Bangla ;)

Thanks GDubya!

May stop by Casa Cuba on the way home. I'd like to have tried every place in the triangle at least once!

You're on a birthday roll! A curry and a Cuba Libre'll warm your cockles on a cold day like today!

Certainly will, GDubya! Was thinking more of a Mojito (when in Havana...). Even I can do a Cuba Libre at home, without too much effort!

Old hairy dog again, Dazza. The winter beard is back! Is the goatee still with you?

BTW, posted on the share tips. Just one I thought of as good for diversity.
