The Crystal Palace branch of this chain deserves some credit.
Service is consistently good even when busy. Food is of consistent good quality and pretty good value on the whole.

A reliable local restaurant.
Only complaint is can get noisy with large parties and the middle classes often do not tend to manage their kids well in restaurants....

I agree with Uncle Wilf - you know what you're getting in here, and the staff are lovely.

Agree with the kids thing too... especially if you are sitting near the door and there's one constantly opening and closing it - but Mummy's too busy to tell them off!

Not been in here, probably due to the other Italian restauarants surrounding it being either very good or having better atmosphere.
But it does look very nice inside, and if it wasn't for the fact that we have such a wonderful choice of places to go for a bite in Crystal Palace, then i'd definitely frequent it, as like Uncle Wilf and Rachel have said, you know what you are getting, and i quite like Pizza Express's pizzas.

I agree I think it is a great restaurant for a chain. The food is always good, and the staff are lovely.

It is however, probably one of the better places to go with small kids, as they have great facilities and the tables are well spaced out, so you can attempt, as a parent to organise your offsprings without knocking everyone else in the seats.

This does mean it can get a little noisey in there, but given that everywhere else to eat in CP is for adults, I think Pizza Express can be forgiven.

PS. I do not include MacDonalds as a viable restaurant.

We went in here on Friday for lunch - the sent the wrong salad for me, when I told them it wasn't what I'd ordered they couldn't have been more apologetic.

I didn't complain at all, mistakes happen and the two salads do sound very similar! However, the manager brought me free olives, and when the salad arrived, complimentary drinks for me and my hubby.

Lovely service.
