Last night saw a first for Crystal Palace! A PopUp dining and art experience.

The group behind the Bigger Picture Gallery hosted a special preview of the latest work by artists Angelique Hartigan (www.angelique-hartigan-artist.co.uk) and Roy Peterson (www.roypeterson.co.uk).
Collectors, local business owners and the curious (reservations required, we were happily overbooked!) were welcomed to cocktails and art followed by a sumptuous 6 course dinner and wine, followed by a lively discussion of the artworks.

There was plenty of praise for the two chefs' culinary expertise as well as the level of attention lavished by the hosts. The evening was a great success and already talks are in the works for the next PopUp event, with menu and location to be decided.

Bigger Picture Gallery's first exhibition opens Saturday June 6th 2009 from 7-10pm at 93 Church Road Crystal Palace SE19. A drinks and art preview evening is being arranged in the next week. If you are interested in hearing more about this venture please get in touch thru this forum.

This is a fabulous first for Crystal Palace! I love the idea of using these temporary spaces, these type of events will be a success due to various factors, including the high cost of traditional retail. Congratulations to the organisers who I see have now launched a website www.biggerpicturegallery.co.uk. I wish you all the best.

Hey Rigsbycat, thanks for the encouraging words and the FT link. We are all very excited about what is happening in Crystal Palace. Bigger Picture Gallery is opening on Saturday June 6th from 7-10 pm if you or any of your friends want to come by and see the art live. Recessionista is also planning a cocktail evening to preview the artworks prior to the gallery opening. Keep you eyes and ears peeled for date and time to PopUp. Looking forward to much more.
