I don't know if it's just me but there does seem to be an excessive amount of dog poo on Waldegrave Road?

Everytime I leave my flat I'm dodging the stuff, why don't people clean it up?

There seems to be a prevelance of "hard" dogs and associated owners in that locale so it doesnt surprise me that they are the type to not give a monkeys about their dogs crapping all over the show

I used to live down that road and in our house it's always been referred to as "Dog **** street"

Such a shame, it's a lovely street. Any suggestions for doing something about it? I will mention it if I see anyone not clearing up.

A dog that must be practically the size of an elephant has starting using our front garden as it's toilet. Really starting to annoy me now. I have spoken to some dog owners about not clearing up after their animals, but sometimes just get a mouthful. Does anybody ever know of anyone who has ever been fined for allowing their dog to foul the pavement, or is it much like the smoking ban at Crystal Palace station ie, if you do it and you look menacing enough nobody will confront you.

Agreed it does seem to have more mess than most streets which I'm sure put a few potential tenants off when we was trying to rent out our flats in waldergrave rd

PS Still amazed how people think smokers are 2nd class citizens who cares about people smoking on a train Platform it hardly life threatening or effect your way of life.

Hear Hear! You now get tutted at for having the audacity to spark up when you LEAVE the station these days too. I might start injecting heroin as I wait for the 8.14 at CP. They can't tut at me then...

I have reported this to Street Services and asked them to clean it up. They should regularly sweep both the streets and the pavements (I have not got my list with me but I suspect that Waldergrave Road should be swept more than once a week).

Unfortunately, despite repeated requests to have wardens investigate dog fouling in Crystal Palace, the Conservative Portfolio Holder has made it clear that Environmental Wardens will only be deployed to the town centres (which, if memory serves, means Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham only).

I can't be certain but it doesn't seem like the street is being cleaned more than once a week. There is regularly litter strewn across Waldegrave Road, which seems to linger for days on end. Much of this is caused by rubbish bags ripped open by foxes and wind blowing recycling from boxes. I know there's a responsibility here on the part of the householder but coupled with the dog mess, it can look really scruffy, which is a shame as it's a great street in other ways.

Thanks for that Tom, I agree with Gekko, it doesn't seem to be cleaned twice a week.
I'm sorry to hear that Enviromental Wardens will only go to town centres, it's not a nice thing to come out of your front door to.
I can't imagine this is good for the kids on the road.

i think it seems to be a common problem in a lot of suburban streets to be honest in my street- west norwood ive never seen so much all the way down the street. I am a dog owner and yes my dog despite hours and hours of constant training often prefers to go on concrete then he does on grass. But the difference being is that i pick it up afterwards.
You cant help but have the feeling that because you own a dog people may be thinking your dog is one of the culprits.
i just dont understand why people dont. sure its not pleasant but those same people have to walk down those streets also.its terrible and gives every dog owner a bad name.
i dont find the streets being cleaned enough. maybe their not important enough. but i did see a programme a little while ago on the city of london and this gets a deep clean NIGHTLY.

I am a smoker by the way, so don't have a pop. I was just saying that we have these rules/regulations in place, but do they ever really get enforced.

Sarah I wasn't having a pop at you, I was having a dig at draconian and unnecessary rules, which I do abide by, by the way. And at people who tut when they walk past you smoking outside a station legally

its not legal to smoke outside London Bridge station, there are large signs pointing this out to all the smokers puffing away next to them.
