I dont know anyone who got any tickets.

We didn't get any. Though an ex-collegue of mine posted on FBook that he ended up with 1000 quids worth! What a ridiculous system indeed.

I've got around 300 worth... But pretty sure none of them are athletics. Probably basketball and maybe handball.

Gutted as this was my opportunity to take my parents to the Olympics and they met through athletics. Nevermind. Another dream dies.

Not even a sniff of a ticket.
When do they have that 2nd chance ballot then?

I didn't bother as I think the system stinks and I didn't want to end up getting charged before I even knew what I'd bought . Sounds like I needn't have worried about that as I probably would have ended up with nothing.

There'll be loads for sale next year when they open the website so everyone can flog their unwanted tickets. Personally, I'm still considering letting out my house and buggering off for a couple of weeks anyway.

Ah the Olympics, how wonderful have they been for Crystal Palace...

- we will lose any events of international interest from our athletics stadium in the Park...

- despite our great sporting heritage here we are not given even an egg and spoon race from the corporate jamboree that brings so much money to so few...

- and the KICC take the money that the LDA have given them in compensation for taking their church site for the Olympics and use part of it to buy up our only community facility, without planning permission, where we would have had a cinema coming into operation by now.

Olympics, Crossrail, the Lea Valley levy - whole thing is absolutely rubbish.

Totally agree with you, there should be a specific allocation for Londoners, separate to any general availability.

My other half applied for 400-worth of tickets and we got nothing. He was very disappointed but I'll be content to watch on telly. He'll be likely to try again on the second round though so maybe we will go to the ball after all.

Yep, I applied for about 650 of tickets and got zip. One guy got 11,000 of tickets after applying for well over 20,000 worth and has decided to keep the lot. Not really fair that individuals like this have so many tickets whist 250,000 people have nothing. The system should be balanced rather than being tilted in the favour of the rich.

He's not rich, he's stupid, according to the BBC:

We applied for the maximum 20 sessions (41 tickets) and ended up with 1 session (2 tickets). After hearing so many people missed out on tix we're extremely grateful we've got 2 but at the same time atad dissapointed. I'm looking forward to the second chance to buy tix plus we're going to go along to some of the London Prepares Series.

Cheers for the offer but I doubt I'll ever get the chance to see an event like this again. With luck like I had getting these tickets I'll sell you tonight's lottery numbers for a ton.
