Finally a fundraiser which appeals to my love of cakes! I'm sure you've all seen this but just a reminder that the Picture Palace Campaign, in association with The Transmitter Magazine presents......C is for Cake and Gobble Gobble are fab and Nadia Sawalha's book just makes you want to join her family permanently! Details below.

Have Your Cake And Eat It:
a fundraising cinema-themed tea party
Saturday 10 July
From 12 noon to 3.30pm
The Grape & Grain
(corner of Anerley Hill & Church Road)

Come along and treat you and yours to a selection of mouth watering cakes
baked by some of our fabulous local bakers who are donating 40% of
profit to the Picture Palace Campaign.
Angel Cakes ~ Blue Mountain Cafe~Blackbird Bakery~ C is for Cake ~Gobble Gobble

Local actress and writer Nadia Sawalha will be joining us so you will get
a chance to buy a signed copy of her new cook book.

Plus Picture Palace Campaign Jane Shearman Design limited edition canvas eco bags hot off the press.

Live music from local ‘Extraordinarium band The Perils between 1 and 2.30pm


For that afternoon only, landlord Rick will be serving a selection of movie themed cocktails so come along, join in the fun and Have Your Cake And Eat It!

How funny I've just twigged that Rick is Humphrey Bogart's name in Casablanca ...very apt!

to avoid confusion, the band thats playing is called "The Peryls" not the perils as it says in the orginal post

Get a fantastic Cinema Campaign shopping bag or three while you are there!

Funds go to helping the Cinema Campaign get the legal advice it needs to make the Campaign effective and constructive for the whole community.

Wow can I just say a huge WELL DONE to all involved in yesterdays event and to all those that came to support. How amazing to see a community making it all happen. Jane Shearman, Gobble Gobble, Cis for Cake, Angel Cakes, The Peryls, Andy Transmitter, Rick and the gang, our lovely celeb Nadia Sawalha and the lovely old gent right at the end who donated some Jamaican Ginger Bread you rock!
