You're only using half the phone Hermit... The apps ARE the phone. Try this:

Ah - that reminds me! Elmo appropriated my tab when I first got it (the only person who has managed to prise it from my side) and installed 'Dolphin Browser' on it - great app :)

Sorry about that... Could keep my hands off it! :D

I have lost a disproportionate amount of my life in the last month to Fruit Ninja, especially the 'Zen' mode. Thinks its on iPhone, iPad and Android

Current high score is 223, but I know I can do better...

See what you're missing :)

I agree, evil but brilliant game

My highest score is 330 but I doubt I could do that again, it nearly killed me :P

A couple of other addictive little games are Doodlejump and Cut the Rope but apps I find useful are:

Nectar
Oyster Mobile
Tapatalk (for connecting to certain forums easier)
N Drive Sat Nav
Around Me (very useful when you're lost!)
ATM Hunter
Red Laser (bar code scanner - handy for electrical shops)
Shazam
Amazon
Ebay
The Trainline
Tune In Radio
Facebook

I have a few more but the one proving invaulable at the moment is the MLC (My Last Cigarette) app which has got me through two weeks so far of not smoking at all by showing me daily the money I'm saving and health benefits etc, brilliant.

You are a true ninja Liz 29 - that must have taken some doing - are you using two hands cos I can't see how you can get that high a score with just the one finger...

Will check out My Last Cigarette too - I do need some help giving up and that sounds pretty decent

My latest favourites are:

1) 'Relax and Sleep' which allows you to pick and indeed mix various background noises to drift off to sleep to - my current favourites are 'Ocean' with a touch of 'seagulls' and a soupçon of 'fog horn', or 'Nature Sounds' with a dab of 'Forest Birds' and a smidgeon of 'Owl hooting'; http://www.bestandro...-and-sleep.html

2) tfl live bus stop info http://www.tfl.gov.u...emes/11560.aspx

How does the TFL thingy work, SL? It's not an app as such, is it? Do you just save the URL as a bookmark? And does anyone know if TFL in general has an app? I use the tube map and train times apps but would like to have one that integrates both to plan journeys. I've serached iTunes for 'TFL' but no luck.

Gill, when the live bus info was launched, I read that TfL would shortly after be freeing the IP so that app developers could fill their boots. So apps will come but it didn't sound as though TfL itself would be producing one.

The general Journey Planner on TfL recognises that I am looking on a mobile when I first go in and converts the screen. It's been very good so far.

Sorry Gill, should have said that I am currently using the tfl webpage (which is fab) but I understood that apps were now available - maybe they aren't yet

Just googled to find an app - this is it so far:

http://busguru.co.uk/
http://itunes.apple....d314614955?mt=8
http://busmapper.co.uk/#S=gcpvh9rbpv6d
http://www.telegraph...app-review.html
http://itunes.apple....d435092651?mt=8

and two other sites that might assist - I use the latter
