Shoreditch is the epicentre of arts in London. Full of markets, great venues, and even better food, the area is the perfect combination between the hipster culture and a business vibe. It is one of the top destinations any newcomer to London should visit, so to help you get the most out of the city and this area in particular, you will want to follow this guide:

Visit Its Street Markets

Though not every option in this list is specifically in Shoreditch, you can get to all of them easily from Shoreditch High Street, so we’re going to include them in the list.

A Little of Everything

These markets have a little bit of everything for you to enjoy. From food, to shops, to market stalls selling off-brand items, to vintage finds. They are the ultimate destination, so expect to spend a few hours exploring:

  • Brick Lane
  • Boxpark
  • Old Spitalfields Market
  • The Old Truman Brewery

Flower Market

The Columbia Road Flower Market is exactly what it says on the tin. Flowers, plants, and everything floral, this market is a great place to be if you love plants and are looking for something fresh to bring home.

Enjoy a Retro Night Out

If you are looking for an alternative night out, enjoy something retro in Shoreditch. Try a delicious sit-down dinner or head to a fan favourite of the area like for delicious Thai and then head on over to any of these amazing retro-inspired nights out:

  1. Electric Cinema
  2. All Star Lanes
  3. London Shuffle Club
  4. Plonk! Crazy Golf
  5. Bounce
  6. Flight Club

Bowling, ping pong, mini golf, and even darts, these venues are the best way to have a great night out with friends and enjoy a wholesome game together, especially as they are wonderfully decorated and fun.

See the Historical Side of London

If you want to see a more historical side of Shoreditch, then you should absolutely head over to Denis Server’s House. Beautifully preserved, this house museum is a wonderful treat that is often on the beaten path of tourists so you’ll enjoy a quiet escape back into the past.

Shoreditch Art

If there is anything that Shoreditch is infamous for, street art and the art scene is definitely it. From its amazing graffiti and wall murals, to art galleries, to exhibitions (often at the Truman Brewery), to even the Barbican Arts and Cultural Centre (just slightly west of Shoreditch) you are spoiled for choice.

There is always something new and exciting to do in Shoreditch and the surrounding areas, so much so that a day trip is more than encouraged for any visitor (or new resident) to London. Follow this guide to help you enjoy the ultimate day out, but do keep your diary open for some spontaneous finds!
